We live only a little bit over two hours from the little French coast town of Wimereux. In November 2022, we went with a couple of friends and stayed there for two days.
We booked a house called "La Maison de la Mer". The house was a 10-minute walk from the centre of the town. It was a beautifully renovated house with a big garden and all the needed facilities. One of the most significant selling points for us was; that dogs are allowed.
I like to plan and make lists, but I didn't find the time for this trip. Which was amazing because you explore and enjoy the surprising different surroundings.
Our first day started early in the morning with a walk to the baker after croissants and freshly baked baguettes. Then, after a lovely breakfast, we walked to "point aux oies", and from there, we walked alongside the beach.
Around three, we were back in Wimereux, looking over the waves breaking on the shore. When you visit Wimereux, go to the "north dike" when it is high tide. It's fun and kind of spectacular to see those big waves crashing against the shore. We ate a late lunch and played board games back in the house. In the late afternoon, I took Sloebie for another walk, explored the town of wimereux and took a run at the beach.

In the evening we booked the restaurant "chez Mimi". The seafood was excellent; apparently, this restaurant is well-known in Belgium. The place was filled with Belgians. Again dogs are allowed, but it's a small place. So our dog Sloebie only fit partially at our table. Luckily the people behind us didn't mind that she also stretched herself under their chairs.
The next day started with rain, and it never stopped. Lucky for us, an 8-minute drive, and we were at the giant European aquarium, "Nausicaa". It took us nearly 4 hours to see the whole aquarium. If we didn't have to leave the house at three, we would have stayed a little bit longer.
